Art at the Presidio Theatre: Andrew Pick & Ursula Xanthe Young
We’re proud to continue our partnership between Presidio Theatre and San Francisco’s iconic 111 Minna Gallery, bringing the Bay Area’s most vibrant visual artists into the heart of the Presidio.
For this next installation, we present the works of Andrew Pick and Ursula Xanthe Young — two artists whose practices, while distinct, share a deep reverence for San Francisco’s ever-shifting light, landscape, and soul.
Andrew Pick, a pastel and oil painter based in San Francisco, trained at both the City College of San Francisco and The Art Students League of New York. His plein air paintings capture the city’s streets, skies, and hidden corners with immediacy and intimacy.
Ursula Xanthe Young brings her signature blend of intricate architectural motifs, feminine iconography, and dreamlike cityscapes to the space. Her work—well known throughout the Bay and beyond—draws inspiration from the urban world around her, reimagining San Francisco as both myth and memory.
Opening Reception + Artist Talk
Wednesday, May 7
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Presidio Theatre Lobby
Celebrate with us at a free, in-person reception featuring drinks, conversation, and an Artist 2 Artist Talk — a special dialogue between Andrew and Ursula, moderated by returning artist Rhonel Roberts, whose own work opened this series. This is a chance to hear the artists discuss their process, their paths, and the shared landscapes that inspire them.
This event is free to attend with RSVP.
Following the opening, the exhibition will remain on display through the summer during Presidio Theatre show nights, accessible with ticketed entry.
