Double Bill: Elvin Bishop Band & Walter Trout Band
Walter Trout is the fabled guitarist who has remained at the heart of America’s blues-rock scene for over six-decades. He has a deep legacy in the world of Blues, Americana, and the realm of revered singer-songwriters. He was a sideman with John Lee Hooker and Big Mama Thornton and was with Canned Heat in the early 1980s. His guitar pyrotechnics with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers are legendary and he followed in the footsteps of other guitar greats Peter Green and Eric Clapton. He has received numerous Blues Music Awards, SENA European Guitar Awards, British Blues Awards, and Blues Blast Music Awards.
Ever since Rock & Roll and Blues Hall Of Famer Elvin Bishop first hit the scene with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band back in 1965, he’s blazed his own musical trail. Bishop has always inspired his fans with his rowdy guitar playing and witty, slice-of-life songs. Rolling Stone called Bishop “a legendary guitarist” whose playing is “impeccable and spirited. He is a distinguished American player.”
